About
I am originally from Campbeltown, a small fishing town on the far west coast of Scotland. I was raised for most of my years in Thatcham, Berkshire and I am now in my third year of study in Huddersfield in the North of England.
Prior to college my focus had been on traditional art & design; ceramics, sculpture, art history, photography, fine art, textile design as well as graphic design. After A-Level I had a year out and in that year found my interest in the Internet, and more specifically the Internet as a platform for design. I took a year long course in Applied Digital Media and then moved to Huddersfield to start my Multimedia Design course.
I have undertaken a number of freelance projects, having designed websites and Flash presentations for various clients.
Within the wider field of multimedia my interests lie in understanding how code can be used to create something visually stimulating. A lot of my study has involved looking at how we all look at each other, and I plan to combine these two trains of thought in the future.
When I get away from my desk I enjoy cycling, both on and off road. I like to get out for a coffee or a beer, and love nothing more than dancing like no one is looking!
When I finally finish up at university I would like to keep undertaking freelance projects, but I would also consider creative/art direction. I would also like to set up company of sorts, offering the kind of support to students that I myself have always wanted.
